In the past, we have held World Water Day awareness events in different Delhi slums on the 22nd and 23rd of March in collaboration with Development Alternative (DA) New Delhi. On that day, the main activities were street plays (road shows) and public announcements to raise awareness among the assembled residents about the importance of safe drinking water and water-borne diseases such as diarrhea, jaundice, stomach problems, skin disease, and so on. The program drew about 1000 people from various slums. The event also took advantage of the opportunity to make the residents aware.
ISARD successfully celebrated World AIDS Day in Bindapur West Delhi, East Delhi, Panchkula, Haryana, Mohali Punjab, and other areas with street plays, rallies, and public meetings to raise awareness and fight prejudice about HIV/AIDS. In his speech, Dr. Ajeet Prasad emphasized the importance of knowledge and a change in lifestyle in order to control HIV/AIDS in the community. More than 5,000 condoms and 10,000 educational and informational materials (brochures, posters, and pamphlets/ leaflets) were distributed during this program.
